"ESSENCE OF CHRISTMAS"

Christmas has been trivialized into Santa Claus, his reindeer's, Christmas lights and trees, and lots of toys and goodies to bring cheer to humankind on this festive holiday season.

   I have always thought of Christmas time as a good time, a kind, forgiving, charitable, loving, sharing.  Christmas is the season for gifts and shopping.  Every Christmas, many people go to malls to buy different gifts to be given to their friends and love ones.

   At 16th to 24th of December, we Filipinos traditionally go to church at early dawn, some or most are walking going to the church to attend the mass at four in the morning, it is called "Misa de Gallio."  For kinds, Christmas is so fun, they go for caroling, and the money that they've collected, the carolers have equal shares.  Every Christmas, the families and their relatives are gathered together to celebrate the Christmas; full of happiness, care, giving or exchanging of gifts, and full of LOVE.

   Christmas is spoken of as "the season of joy" and "a time of cheer." So, be good, be kind, be humane, and charitable; LOVE your fellows; console the afflicted; pardon those have done you wrong.

   This Christmas season, take time for LOVE.!

EQUAL RIGTHS, EQUAL OPPOTUNITIES

Equality is an ideal situation that, for various reasons, does not exist in any society in the world today.  It is a social state of affairs in which all people within specific group have the same status in certain respect.  Equality includes equal rights and equal opportunities and obligations and it also involves the whole of society.

     Gender discrimination towards women and girls is widespread in all country.  Women are being treated unequal, they are being harassed, and they are being abused and dis-respected.  What they don't know is that women can do what men can do, they are strong like a men.  And I can give a proof to my statement, a number of who women have fought alongside their fellow men in the liberation struggles.  They have contributed a lot in our country, in the progress of the economy.  Women are as hardworking as men.  They can also be a good leader.  And they play a major role in our society, in our families.  For me, women must not be treated unequal; they must be treated justly in families, workplaces, public life and the Church.

     Men should be more involved in promoting women’s rights.  Men should not be underestimating the ability of women.  A woman deserves a right treatment.  They deserve to be acknowledged when they’ve done a good deed or a good thing in our country.  Everyone must be treated equal.

"I WANT TO BE A PART OF THE SULOTION"

 Can't you notice, if you are eating an ice cream, it easily melts nowadays? It is all because of the hot temperature. What could be the reason of this change in temperature? in our Climate? What must/ can we do?
          What is Climate Change? Climate Change is a significant and lasting change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns over periods ranging from decades to million of years. Because so many systems are tied to climate, there is a change that affects many related aspects of where and how people, plants and animals live. Climate Change is really a concern because it has serious impacts locally and globally. These are the effects of Global Warming and Climate Change; higher temperature, changing landscapes, risk of wildlife, rising of seas, increased storm damage, economic losses and more heat-related illness and disease. And one of the reason of Climate Change is Global Warming. What is Global Warming? It is the rising average temperature of Earth's atmosphere and oceans and its projected continuation. Global Warming can lead to earth's destruction because the ozone layer is being destroyed, thus the radiation can enter the earth's atmosphere killing all the life in earth. Nowadays, the people are polluting the earth much faster than the earlier years, at this rate, climate change can lead to destruction of our planet.
          So we must work hand-in-hand to reduce the effects of climate change and global warming. There are so many ways to save our planet. First one is to plant trees, even if it's simple,it can help a lot in saving the world, next is to unplug electronic devices you don't use,  use energy efficient bulbs, try to reuse, reduce and recycle things, use Eco-friendly bags instead of using plastic bags and etc. And one big thing that we can do is to have a campaign to educate the people about global warming and climate change because I believe that only a few people knew what is these global warming and climate change. This will be a wake-up call to deliver the message that global warming and climate change are real and present danger. And as a youth, I would like to educate the public about the severity of us humans. So that they must be aware on what is happening in our planet.
          Global Warming and Climate Change are wake-up calls that could not be ignored. We must do something to prevent further damage. These are the biggest challenges facing our civilization today. Each and every one of us can make changes in the way in which we live our lives and BECOME A PART OF THE SOLUTION
